New Summer 2016 Collection Depicts Original “Skyfall” Artwork
On Reflective Canvas

First there was weatherized printed rubber; now there are new reflective street-ready graphics. Elevating the collaboration to the next level, Converse debuts its second Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II with American artist Futura.

Featuring original artwork by the legendary Brooklyn-based artist, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Futura “Skyfall” inspired collection takes the technological construction and comfort benefits of Chuck II even further with the addition of reflective materials, creating a sneaker that gets you seen. Designed for both function and fashion, the collection combines Futura’s iconic abstract art style with a weather-ready sneaker collection that’s built for the next generation of self-expression.

A pioneer in graffiti art, Futura’s work is synonymous with ingenuity, originality and the NYC downtown art scene of the early ’80s. His work over the last 30 years has transitioned from the street, to the subway, and today into galleries all around the world.  This new pack includes artwork that is original to Futura, entitled “Skyfall,” a unique technique that creates two optical illusions: one, that the onlooker is viewing an expanse of tree or mountain tops, and the other, that looks as if the sky is falling. The new collection features all-over reflective body with the original Futura “Skyfall” artwork and Futura branded box packaging and shoe bag. Available in both hi-top and ox, the Chuck II Futura “Skyfall” inspired sneaker also has varnished midsoles and two-toned reflective laces.

The Summer 2016 Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Futura “Skyfall” inspired collection will be available Friday, June 24,2016 at selected Converse stores. The sneakers will retail for suggested retail price of HKD 759 (ox) and HKD 799 (hi-top).

Converse continues to expand the Chuck II family with the debut of the Chuck Taylor All Star II Engineered Woven Collection, an exploration of new materials, color combinations and elevated construction. The sneaker draws inspiration from the sky as the day turns from dawn to dusk.

The Chuck II Engineered Woven provides a lightweight sneaker option with a one-piece jacquard upper construction. The right sneaker features the sun rising while the left shows the sun setting. One pair is outfitted in deep blue, fiery orange and pink colors reminiscent of dawn and twilight while the second pair is a stark contrast in comparison, featuring the same sun image, but subdued by shades of grey and white, evoking feelings of nighttime.

The new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Engineered Woven Collection are available in at Juice CWB with a suggested retail price of $999 HKD.

Revolutionary Chuck II Unveiled With Inventive Light Reflecting Graphics

Following the successful Fall 2015 launch of the revolutionary Chuck II sneakers, Converse unveils the latest incarnation of the Chuck Taylor All Star II, the most forward-thinking Chuck Taylor in over one hundred years. Launching in Spring 2016, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Reflective Print Collection continues the Chuck II journey, updated with a series of street-ready prints that bounce striking patterns when hit by bursts of light in low-light environments.

“When creating the latest version of our successful Chuck II sneaker, we were inspired by our consumers and being able to further enhance their creative and active lifestyles,” said Ryan Case, Converse Product Director. “With the Chuck II Reflective Print, we’ve given our consumers a sneaker that provokes personal style while enhancing visibility in low light, enabling them to do more of what they enjoy throughout the day or night.”

Designed and built for the next generation of creatives, the Chuck II Reflective Print sneaker combines the enhanced comfort of a Nike Lunarlon sockliner, nonslip padded tongue and microsuede lining, with durable reflective print canvas uppers for added low light visibility and style. The exterior print details elevate Chuck Taylor’s most recognizable features with a fully embroidered All Star ankle patch, high foxing and monochrome matte eyelets. This new release reimagines two of Converse’s most iconic prints, Camouflage and Stars and will be available in both hi-top and ox silhouettes.
