[HONG KONG | 22 JULY 2016] Since Sir Alec Issigonis’s ingenious combination of classic British design, flexible use of vehicle interior, and the brand’s unique go-kart driving fun, MINI has become a legendary classic vehicle. As an important member of the MINI family of vehicles, the MINI Convertible was first born in 2004. Today, MINI Hong Kong is proud to launch the new generation of the four-seater open-top MINI Convertible, which reinterprets an active and elegant British character with its elegant and fashionable vehicle contour and stylish soft-top.
The MINI Convertible launch celebration was held last night at Ciao Chow at Lan Kwai Fong – one of the most noted night-spots and the city’s busy CBD. “Stay Open” is the theme of the launch celebration. Beach elements were used in the venue to bring the feel of summer to the party. Colours like yellow and aquamarine matched perfectly with the all-new Caribbean Blue metallic variant developed exclusively for the new MINI Convertible.
Actress Tavia Yeung, who just had her secret wedding ceremony in England, was invited to be the guest of MINI Convertible celebration. Tavia was excited to see the new MINI Convertible and revealed that she loved its new exclusive colour most. She was most impressed by the newly rearranged instruments and controls that are unique to the model. In conjunction with the colour-changing LED Ring, driving excitement is elevated as the LED changes colour automatically under different driving speeds and modes.
Award-winning actor Anthony Wong showed his support to the launch party. In September, he will be leading “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, one of the most popular plays written by William Shakespeare. MINI Hong Kong is proud to be the title sponsor of the play.
